Please help me locate the VSS and reverse wires in my chevy diesel (2500 HD, 2006, 4 speakers without onstar). I am attempting to install the AVIC Z2, but cannot find these wires. Even Crutchfield has not been able to provide any information. Thanks!

Thanks Shotgun--

Is the instrument cluster located under the steering wheel? There is a box with 5 plugs in the front and one purple plug in the back. Can you provide more specific details on location. By the way, that box with 5 plugs shows J2, J3, J4, etc.

What about BCM location?

The instrument cluster is that thing you stare at that tells you how fast you're going, how much gas you have left, etc. The bcm is that black box thing under the steering column.

The cluster is over the wheel. Speedo, Tach, Fuel Gauges. Remove the four 7mm screews in the corners and it will pull out. Plug is in the center at the top.

That box under the wheel is the BCM(Body Control Mod.). Look for the reverse wire in the black plug.

Thanks for you help, as I appreciate the fast response.

One other question...is it okay to run the xm and gps antenna leads together through the headliner (as opposed to separating them because of interference)?

What about the illumination wire? Right now, the radio does not darken with headlights on...Any hints for my specific truck?
