I'm pretty much tired of waiting for Pioneer to update the AVIC-S1 maps for my country (Portugal). The coverage that Pioneer offers is much worse than any other brand. Unfortunately I bought it abroad and realised it too late.

In top of that Pioneed has been anouncing an update that would solve my problems but, months go by and nothing comes out.

Is there a solution I can use in order to update the existing map? Even if a need to hack and instal another software.

You can hack it and put on Tom Tom software. Read about someone doing that in a thread on this site before

Just purchased the AVIC-S1's map update and I found the long waited 99% coverrage for my country.

Now it is pretty complete.
