Successfully updated my Z2 3 weeks ago. It was purchased in Feb '07. Has been working perfectly. Last week started having freezing problems on start up. I had never had the freezing before the bypass. Not saying it was the bypass that caused it but wanted to know if others that are freezing are bypassed or not. I'm guessing it's probably both.

The dealer has agreed to replace the unit and it should arrive tomorrow. What will happen when they put a new unit in with the wiring already bypassed?

I had this problem once after I installed the two wire bypass. I pressed the reset button and restarted the truck. Knock on wood but since then I havent had any issues

just be assured its not the bypass causing it to freeze its purely heat

I got my new replacement Z2 installed last week. Box was dated June 2007. Has not froze all week. In Texas this week we've had 104 degree heat and truck has been in the sun all day with no start up problems.

The dealer did not hook up my by-pass ground so I thought I had to load the software patch as it wasn't by-passed. When I tried loading the patch the system error message was your software is already current. It was obvious that the new Z2 had been shipped with the new software. I then pulled the unit out and found that the ground was not reconnected when the new unit was installed. I connected the ground and all is well.
