AVIC-Z1...is this iPod interface for real!??!

I recently bought a AVIC-Z1 with the back up camera module, Bluetooth module and iPod interface (CDIB100II).

Please tell me there is a faster way to get through my iPod music other than just scrolling down. I have a modest amount of music and it takes FOREVER to get down the list. I just can't believe there is not a way to search by letter of alphabet.

Is there some kind of shortcut???

If you search on here you'll see that this is a common problem.

I've used the direct connect AVIC-D3 and while it is a bit nicer interface, it isn't night & day better (IMHO). It is a bit quicker but still lacks some problems...

Wouldn't it be nice to go to Artists and be able to choose

A-F

G-M

N-T

U-Z

Or something like that... ? Well maybe in the future

There is a good write up about modifying your Artists name and album names to be able to sort by A-Z. Search around.

you can bypass the one for the z1 so that you can use the ipod itself to scroll
