This is probably a really dumb thread, but just curious on what you guys find different from the Z1 and D3.

Besides the hard drive and copying of CDs, what is the real difference?

Why are so many people buying the D3 over the Z1/Z2.

Why is the iPod on the D3 so much better?

For me it was the price. I got a D3 for $679 from Crutchfield. I wasn't going to find a Z1/Z2 for that price anywhere. Also at that time, there was still no bypass for the Z2.

Hmm...didn't realize that price was that different. So I'm guessing that most poeple who go with the D3 over the Z1/Z2 are in the same boat.

It just seems that the D3 has a lot of kinks worked out, that I don't understand why they can't implement them into the Z2?

Such as using the iPod with resonable speed.

the d3 is fine if you never had a z1. i went from a z1 to a d3 and sold it after 3 days. definitely liked the z1 better
