Firs of all let me say what an awesome site this.got to be the ultimate resource for anyone like me who has questions.pat yourself on the back haha.

 

Anyways I am a deployed soldier getting ready to leave Iraq(finally!!!). While over here I purchased an 06' Jetta for my wife, but she misses her suv, so the jetta will be my vehicle when I get back. while recently shopping for head units I saw the d3 and in my oppinion its the best buy for the money. That should arrive at the house in a week or so and I was hoping someone could hook me up with a checklist of sorts needed for the install. More than likely I will take all this stuff to a professional, I have done a few simple decks and systems but this is my first new vehicle and I would like it as perfect as possible. So far from reading a few posts I take it the Schose is the best dash kit and I will also need a antenna adapter.

 

I also read something about a carpi adapter. Is this the wiring harness or anonther piece? Can it still be bypassed using this adapter/harness? Will an installer do the bypass for me? from what I have heard I think it is semi illegal.

 

Any other tips or things I might need if you could help me out it would be greatly appreciated. In less than two months home sweet home!!!
