I installed a Z1 in my 06 Avalaanche about 4 months ago.Everything was working well. I had music within 5 seconds of starting my truck.I just installed a gex-920 xm and now it takes about a minute before I get any sound.The AV screen pos up long before the sound starts.Is this normal with the xm reciever/If not,what could be wrong?

Does that happen with xm as the source? If so, then yes that's normal. The tuner has to power up, get a lock on the sat signal. Then start decoding the signal That's why the delay is longer. My portable takes about 10 seconds or so before I start getting sound from it. Now if it's happening with cds, or terrestrial radio, then I have no idea.

This happens with any sound source,even the beeps on the button pushes.

I think it's normal. My unit takes about a minute to start sounding off...unless it freezes on the Pioneer screen. Then I've got sound within 10 or 20 seconds.
