Q for the experts: calibrating screen

So here is the deal, I've got a Avic N-1, bought it right after release, so she's a few years old & haven't had really any problems, until13 months the scroll (JS) right & left went out. Not a big deal, then the screen wouldn't open & close, again not a big deal. Now for the big deal, Screen is messed, off by 2 inches on the left.

Now I know how to get into the Service menu & recal the screen; however, is it possible that my screen is To far gone for me to recal? In other words, I keep getting NOT Permissible to that effect in RED.

Also, wondering if I send it in for the recall & get the flex cable fixed will this fix my calibration problems & allow me to fix.

Lastly, has anyone else had the cable fix done (yes I'm sure) and what problems fixed for you after doing that?

Many, Many thanks in advance for anyone willing to help me out.

Best,

T

it's layed out in the service manual. what's your email i'll copy those pages and send, or I can AIM the full version to you.

well getting the flex cable fixed will fix just about everything but your screen will still need to be calibrated. at least my still needed to be. contact pioneer, they recalled all of the flex cables on the n1, n2 and are fixing them for free. at least thats the email i got a couple months ago from them.
