I just installed d3 in my 07 wrx last night.

Bypass, VSS and everything went perfect!!

But only thing I care is Orginal backgrounf screen.

It seems like broken LCD display(First image).

isn't it supposed to be all back screen?

Is it normal or defective?

I believe that it is normal to look like that. My screen looked the same way until i changed it to something different.

The one in the first pic is the one it comes set to out of the factory

Yep, mine is plain black when off. I think lines like that is not normal. But yours also not bad because when on, the lines are gone.

Mine also has those stupid weird lines. At first I thought it was defective. What the hell is it?

cool, i'm relieved now. i thought mines' was broken also.

It's almost like the engineers at Pioneer are playing a joke with that horizontal line background. It makes the display look defective. I've seen that comment many times on this forum and when I originally saw that background, my first thought was that something wasn't right.
