I Installed my D3 about a week ago and could not have done it without this forum, so thanks for all the info!

I am having an problem with my XM on the source screen. almost every time when I first turn the key in my car the XM button is not active, but if I turn the key off and back on the XM button become active. It does not matter it the antenna has a clear shot or if the car is in the garage.

Any help would be appreciated.

how do you have it wired? are the power wires from the xm box going to constant (yellow) or accesory (red)?

the brain needs constant power

if thats not the problem try grounding it to a different spot

The power is soldered to to yellow wire and the ground wire is soldered to the radio ground wire that goes to chassis ground.

ehh like i said try grounding and powering at a different spot than the deck. also ive had problems with sirius units doing the same thing.

What kind of vehicle is it too. not all vehicles have a ground in the radio harness. Even though the wire harness you buy may have the wire. Nissan's come to mind at the moment.

2005 Mustang. I took the black wire and soldered all wires that go to ground together and hooked the end of the black wire to the chassis. This weekend I will desolder this wire and put is on a seperate chasis ground.
