I know that there is already a sticky on this, but i can't find the information i need in that thread.

I just got a z-1 it is a great unit, and everything works perfectly, except the 2nd wire in the bypass. The radio was installed for me, and the installer grounded both the parking break wire, and he inserted the 2nd wire in the harness and grounded it. Everything seems to work fine. When i drive everything works great, i can watch movies while moving. All of the sudden, the message pops up. I know it is a problem with the second wire, because i can still watch while im not moving, but when i start moving it dies. I pulled the radio apart and checked the connection of the 2nd wire in the harness and found that it was pretty secure. I put the radio back in, started driving, and everything was great. UNTIL, in less then 24 hours i had the same thing happen, I was driving and BAM (the message came up again and i was locked out while moving). Can someone please help me figure out where the problem is. It works for a little while and then it stops working.

Sounds like something is loose. Double check the grounds are secure also. And that the pin in the "magic" hole has clicked in and seated all the way.

Sounds like your Z1 does not have the bluetooth update. Is your Ill wire connected? If so, try the headlight flash by-pass. Or you could try putting the bluetooth update disc in to see if the unit has been updated or not.

OMG, do i have to have a unit after june or the bluetooth update for the 2 wire bypass to work????

No, you just have to do the bluetooth update and then it will work
