I am in the market for an Avic D3 but I am not an Ipod user.

I would like to hook up an Auxiliary USB input to the D3 and attach a portable hard drive to it.

Is this setup possible?

Has anyone done this yet?

Yes it is possible. You need the CD-UB100. It attached via the IP Bus. You can control the drive from the head unit. You need to have a drive that is less that 250gb and needs to be in FAT32.
