does the d3 need the vss and reverse wires hooked up? what does this do?

any installers out there have access to which wires I need to tap into for these connections?

The D3 in general does not have to have both wires hooked up. the advantage that you get when hookin up the VSS wire is that you get speed, acceleration, etc... Also the VSS wire is used to give more accurate positioning with the nav when going through mtns, up and down hills and tunnels. The reverse wire is mainly used if you are planning to hook up a reverse camera. It gets the signal and turn the camera on.

As for where they are, i will have to get back to you unless someone else knows.

vss is green/white at the instrument cluster (guages), and is in the 4th pin in. there is another green/white 3 pins in on the connector THIS IS NOT IT. reverse if you want to hook it up is light green at the reverse light.
