At the risk of being ignored for a simplistic question.

I just got a 07 F150 with a pre-installed AVIC D3. I purchased a BOYO - VTL300 License Plate Camera. I a am not sure what power source to tap into use for the red wire. I have heard the reverse lights, but I want to be able to turn on the camera while driving to check on my towed trailer.

Also I Assume the best route to run to the wiring is threw the frame and into the passenger compartment threw the firewall. Ground and RCA plug are understood.

Thanks in advance from a beginner

red wire goes to accessory. run wire through frame then through a grommet under cab. you dont have to go through the firewall

One more issue. I connected the red wire to the red wire labeled ACC on the back but the camera did not fire up. The bypass worked great and the Head unit knows the camera is there. But I got no image in reverse or when selecting camera. Thanks in advance.

do you have the polarity set to positive and camera set to on in the settings menu?

Make sure you hook up the black ground wire too.
