Engine Noise through Pac Onstar Module

Hey all,

Just got my Z1 put into my 2007 Yukon Denali. Z1 works, Rear Entertainment works, steering wheel controls work, onstar works-ish...

Onstar works, but there is a considerable engine noise through speakers. The engine noise is not really noticeable when using any other source, but it is pretty bad on the Onstar.

Any ideas?

Try adjusting the volume output of the offstar. The instructions that came with the module should tell you how to do that. What is the p/n of the module you used.

Your quick, I was just about to edit my post. I am using the OS-3Bose by Pac as I have the Premium Bose Sound system as well.

Currently the volume is VERY low, but my concern with adjusting the volume up is that the engine noise issue will get worse, no?

it's possible. What you can try is running a second ground to a metal brace in the dash cavity. Just your friendly neighborhood postwhore at work.

We've encountered this noise. We now put a power noise filter on the main power feed to the interface(truck side). This will reduce it significantly.

Thanks Shotgun. Any suggestions on a power noise filter?

Just spoke to PAC and they suggested that I attempt to connect the Onstar ground wire to the os-3bose.

Make sense at all? If yes, anyone know where i can find the onstar ground wire?

Thank you friendly postwhore. LOL....

I like the PAC CSS-12. I would try the noise filter before redoing any wiring.

Never had a problem with the scosche blose interface. Though the part number escapes me at the moment.
