Currently own Z1, interested in Z2, looking at options...

Hey this is my first post on here, but I have been reading a lot about the Z1 to Z2 upgrades on this forum.

To be honest, I'm now confused about my options and which will work and which will not as I am not very savvy with car audio/video/nav installs.

I have an early model Z1, purchased a year ago. I have a Bluetooth adapter installed. I have NO updates installed. The unit was installed with the "parking brake wire" bypass where I have to switch on/off the illumination on startup in order to enable the bypass everytime.

I read a lot about a "two-wire" bypass and I am not sure if this is what I have or if this is a different bypass method.

What are my options?

1. Can I swap a Z2 HDD into my Z1 unit?

2. Can I install a software update into my current Z1 HDD?

3. Aside from the detailed maps and updated map data, what are the other differences between the Z1/Z2? Is the hardware still the same?

For your first post, you really havent done much research, like you claim you have.

Like I mentioned, I did search and I claimed that I was confused, I did not claim that I did not find related threads.

I also mentioned that I am not very savvy on this topic so whatever I did find was obviously not very clear to me.

Thanks for the great first impression. Obviously asking a noob question was a bad idea, plz close thread.
