My Z-1 seems to be incapable of dimming at night, it's set on automatic but it's very bright/distracting. Any help?

It should be tied into your driving lights. Perhaps it's wired wrong.

Ok not at all.

Hit the menu button, then the setting tab, then hardware and connections.

Look at the ILLUMINATION line.

Turn your lights on and off. Does that line change? If not, it's either not connected to the right thing or at all.

It's an orange wire off the back of the Z1 labeled ILL. It needs to go to a wire that goes to 12v when the lights go on and 0v when the lights go off.

The "ILLUMINATION line" is OFF, when I turn the headlights off and on it doesn't change. My truck has automatic daytime running lights, would that make a difference?

It's possible, but I doubt it. I would guess that the ILLUMINATION wire is not hooked up at all.

when the z1 goes into 'dim' mode the map is tight! everything is all black and the roads are green and blue....just hot id share since i experienced it for the first time last nite now that my ILL wire is connected the *correct way
