I am thinking about getting an Ipod connected to my D3. Does anyone have any pics of what the ipod interface on the D3 looks like when playing music from an Ipod? Does it display the song title, artist title ect... And can you control all the Ipod features from the D3?

Thanks. How is the sound quality with the adapter? Is it CD quality sound?

Depends on if you load music onto the ipod by original CD, or have your ipod loaded up with poor quality mp3s and WMAs

I see, same thing goes with burning a CD. So basically it will play the same quality as a CD if loaded with CD music.

Exactly

Seems like the iPod would be better than a CD though because it isn't having to load the song from an external source, it is hard-wired to the unit. Could be wrong though.

Well it would be more convenient than using CD’s in that you wouldn't have to take out the Navi DVD and put it in every time you want to use it. You can just leave the Navi disk in and use the Ipod. This is why I am considering getting an Ipod and a DVD changer.

i have to say - the ipod interface on the d3 is the best ive seen - that was actually the MAIN reason i bought the unit (of course, having in-dash nav isnt a bad perk either) - it does have its quirks, but overall - its pretty brilliant

and yeah - sound quality all depends on how you load your mp3s - but then again, i have a TON of mp3's encoded at 128k and they dont sound bad at all - its definitely better then just using an aux-in (or, gasp, a fm transmitter)

Nope. MP3s are compressed files and SQ is lost in compression. You can adjust compression in iTunes for CDs you load. 128kb seems the normal with minimal loss. 320kbps is about CD quality. I tend to compromise at 192kb/s, however still find that playing an original CD has the best SQ.
