Connector #2

My Z1 was installed without even using Connector #2. I am now trying to apply the 2-wire bypass but that requires moving the MUTE wire to the empty slot in Connector #2.

I still have Connector #2, can I just plug it in only to be used as a connection from the Z1 to ground? Or is there another purpose for Connector #2 aside from auxilliary use and add-ons that I'm missing? The Z1 works fine without the use of Connector #2.

Good enough. Thanks.

Most people don't need connector 2 in most installations. The only real use for most people is the bypass wire. Plugging it into the back and not connecting any of the wires (except for the bypass wire) will not hurt anything. Just tape up the wires so they don't short to anything behind the dash and you will be fine.

Perfect. Thats what I thought.

Also, I think I read somewhere on here that its OK to complete the 2-wire bypass even if you have the 1st gen/non-updated Z1. Even though the parking-brake wire is sufficient, I will be upgrading to the Z2 build soon so I would like to prepare now while I have the unit out.
