Hey, im going to start installing an Avic-D3 soon and im thinking of a few things about the install. I have a few questions

1. Do i have to install both antennas or is one enough?

2. Where can i fit the btb200 and the xm unit?

3. Will my steering wheel buttons work?? (2003 Acura TL)

4. I heard about a slight hissing noise with aftermarket radios in my bose equipped car, is this true? why does it happen if so and is it preventable.

5. And lastly, where can i put my antennas? any ideas? I actually thought of putting it in the dashboard or maybe under the plastic panel between the windshield and driver side window.

Answers to any of these would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

1. Do i have to install both antennas or is one enough?

For the D3 unit itself, you have to plug in your vehicle's FM/AM radio antenna, as well as the GPS antenna that comes with the unit. Is that what you mean by both? Or do you mean the XM and the GPS antennas? Because those both have to be plugged in for each of their systems to work.

2. Where can i fit the btb200 and the xm unit?

I don't know what the btb200 is, but you can put it and/or the xm tuner in the glove box, under a seat, in the trunk, pretty much anywhere you have the room for them and feel confident running the wires to.

3. Will my steering wheel buttons work?? (2003 Acura TL)

Yeah, but you will have to get an adapter for it to work. You should be able to find it on the Pioneer website.

4. I heard about a slight hissing noise with aftermarket radios in my bose equipped car, is this true? why does it happen if so and is it preventable.

I don't know, but I'm sure there's a few topics on this site about it. Try the search function.

Again, there are many topics on this site about that. Use the search function. This has been discussed in depth at least a few times that I know of.
