F960DAB Canbus

Hi just ordered this unit to replace my older f series. On the rear there is a Canbus input and pioneer seem to make a hard to find adapter. Looking at it it must connect to the can high and low on my vw caravelle? Can you just get the connector for it and is the unit compatible with any VW with climatronic? It's not a deal breaker but it would be a nice integration if I can do it :)
