I need to figure out how to get European maps on the 8000NEX. I successfully installed the unit thinking it would be a matter of just paying for/downloading the maps and loading them. Boy was I surprised to find out that you can't just do that. I live in Europe for the time being and would hate to have wasted all the money on this unit if I can't use the nav.. Please help!!!!
Unless I'm very much mistaken you won't ever be able to load Euro maps onto a US device. The page of the equivalent Pioneer Euro devices that are comparable to our NEX 5001/6001/7001/8001 can be found here: http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/25/111/241/overview.html
I've never heard of being able to load US maps onto a Euro device or vice versa...someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

i had a avic f90bt and was running europe maps with no problem. its all about getting the files together and going into testmode to do it

Anybody managed to get European maps on US AVIC device.
I have the same problem.
I have a AVIC 8100 NEX bought in US that I use in Europe and the map won't let me buy the Europe maps for it.
Looking forward for your advice.
