I used to install radios and do car audio setups, that was 16 years ago. I am now looking at getting a GPS in dash unit. I know things have changed. I am really like the 8000, I dont like the slot for the cd or dvd to go into the unit. I like the clean look. I also dont plan on listening to a cd, maybe watch a dvd but I mostly want it for GPS and Sat radio. I like the options on the 8000 I have a 2006 Nissan Xterra, I also have a android phone. What do you think?

I have an '05 Xterra and a 5000 and it's perfect. I upgraded the stock speakers though!!

I love my 8000. I have an '09 Camry Hybrid with the JBL Navigation. When the NAV died I replaced it with the AVIC-8000NEX. I also ended up replacing the stock speakers with two sets of JBL P963 and a set of JBL GTO328. As of now I have the stock "800 Watt" amp. I'm quite happy with the system, though the amp is a little harsh on the highs.

Pick up any of the NEX line and I'm sure you will be just as happy.
