I have a z2 installed that has stopped reading c/d's and says unreadable disc, just bought a z3 with a cracked screen, but supposedly works, Can I just swap the disc drive. Doesn't look that hard to do, Could I even swap the hard drive between the two.  

Unless you have unlocked the drive then you won't be able to swap them.

CD drive is absolutely same. easy to swap. dont need unlock the hard drive.
