Can I disable CarPlay on the 7000nex?

If I can and do that, what happens when the iPhone is connected via usb1?

On the phone, tap Settings > General > Restrictions.  In there, you'll see a switch for CarPlay.  Slide it to the left (grey, not green).  

You'll use the iPod1 (or iPod2) source.

Turns out, I don't need to disable CarPlay. If I change the input on the radio to USB1, I can stream whatever is playing on the phone and it charges.

Ok to actually answer your question. If you want to turn off carplay, go to settings on your radio, input/output settings, smartphone setup and then click carplay off.
