Hello.. Just got my self a hd3 with external bt module.
Is it possible to upgrade it with another devices firmware?
If so what firmware and what benefit would it be.

for a noobs eye, it all looks the same hd3, hd3-2, z1, z2 and z3..
whats the major diffrences?

hardware between the zx and hdx is diferent and not compatible, i.e. different radio tuners, presence of RDS and TMC, etc.
difference between z1,2 and 3 is just software. Same for diference between the hd1, hd2 and hd2-II
Z units are for USA market, HD units for European
So z units come with USA maps, HD units with European maps (in general, there's also Australian and Russian HD units...)

Only if you pay for it (it's a package together with the last version of the maps....), see http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/archive/CNDV-1100HD/page.html
