Using Both Andrioid Auto & CarPlay with NEX 8100

Hi,

 

As someone who has both an Note 3 and iPhone 5S, would it be possible to have the NEX 8100 installed with both the Lightning Cable and the Android wire so I could alternate between using CarPlay and Android Auto or am I limited to one or the other?

I don't know why not. iPhone in usb1 and android in usb2. You would have to change the smartphone settings each time you plugged one or the other in and can't use both at once as far as I can tell.

Supposedly this will be possible on the upcoming parrot, but with the Pioneer, it's just like using appradio for iPhone or android. You have to switch between the units in the settings.

I just installed my 8100 last week. I can confirm that you can switch between Car Play and Android Auto just like Nolarola described. The 8100 smartphone settings drive which one comes up if you plug both in.
