So I went to my local computer store to purchase this HDD adapter to go from my avic z1 to my computer, and it fried the HDD...not the actual hdd, just the circuit board attached to it. I went back there to ask them what the hell happened, and they said they crossed 2 solder connections, and then shorted my HDD....so my question is, does anyone know what I can do????

Yea, go back to your local computer store and tell them to replace the HDD they fried using their poorly assembled adapter.

yes I will have the HDD taken care of, however that won't get my information back on my HDD....

Just download the Z2 image talked about in the hacks section and write that to a compatible drive. You'll find threads in the hacks section that will tell you what drives will work and how to do it. It's not really hard at all.
