I'm the new owner of a Nex8000 unit and after install it on my highlander 2013, when i use the gps, i have the message that "the speed wire is not collected, the gps will work on hydrid mode" It is because i use the screen bypass of the unit?

No it means you didn't hook up your VSS wire. Will work fine in simple hybrid, but you get better accuracy by connecting to your vehicle's speed pulse. Especially if you lose GPS signal in tunnels or areas of weak reception.
