Hi guys,

Sorry if this has been asked here before. I'm installing Avic-Z2 in my 00 Eclipse. There is an orange/white cable on the power cord of Z2, and it says "ILL." There is also an orange/white cable on the car, but it says "dimmer" on it. There is also just an orange cable on the car that says "illumination." So, which one should I connect the "ILL" cable to? And one more question - can I ground three cables (ground and 2-wire bypass) in one place?

1) I prefer the orange wire on the harness. you are looking for a wire that goes to 12v when you turn on the parking lights, and does not change when you turn the dashboard dimmer down. I don't remember if your car does this or not. It should, though.

2) Yes, I do it all the time.

use the one that says "ILL"

Thank you guys, I'll connect "ILL" to "illumination" then.

My truck has auto lights....so I wired it to the actual light switch, as per another install that was posted here....I do like it, when my cluster lights kick on, my map goes ito nighttime mode....in which, I like a lot more than day mode....and I'm kinda wanting it to always be in night mode....the contrast is just easier to see....and much more sleek looking IMO....

my Z2 doesn't dim with the car dimmer, either....I have to set it in the Z2's menu....

just throwing that out there....
