For the life of me I can't figure out how to turn off all the balloon clutter on the map display. Actually searched the manual and couldn't find the answer.
Any help appreciated.

Hide POIs (blue balloons) NEX8100

Under Navigation menu- settings- map display
You can turn what "balloons" you want off/on there.

Thanks, the option name is "Place Markers"
