The new Ipod Nano that plays video will the video play throught on avic d3.

And does it still use the same cable of the older nano's or is it a different cable.

The new gen iPods (nano video and classic) will NOT play video through the D3. I confirmed this with both of them. The dock connector is physically the same on both nanos. However, with the new iPods you also will experience your artist/info names not updating on the D3 as the songs change. Stay far far away from the new iPods if you wan't to use them with the D3.

Short answer: if you're going to use an ipod with the D3, get one of the old units.
