Hello I am new to this forum and this is my first post. Today I had best buy hook up the D-3 and my i-pod is the only thing that works right. When in the navigation mode it shows me where I am located, but the option to type in the address and POI and many more things are not working. They hooked up the camera as well and that kind of works when it wants to. It will work in reverse, then I would try it again then it comes up all black and and says that this camera might be shown in reverse. I would appreciate any help at all, thank you in advance.

Well, that is the way the unit is suppose to work while in motion. Its called a lockout. It keeps you from slamming into someone while trying to use the nav or watching video. Most all in dash navs have a lockout like this. You will have to bypass the unit if you want to overcome this. Search D3 Bypass for instructions.

I forgot to mention that they did the bypass and even when the car was in park i could not do the navigation. But thanks for trying to help me out.

It sounds like they didn't do the bypass correctly. I'm willing to bet they didn't ground the parking brake wire.

Right! what you have described is a symptom of an incorrect bypass. Take it back to them with instructions from this site and have them correct it. Search "AVIC D3 BYPASS" for instructions.

I'm surprised if they will do the bypass for you. They do not want to be liable for any legal issues. You may end up removing the head unit and do the bypass yourself. After all installed, just fixing the bypass is just a piece of cake.
