Hi All, Do I need to hook up the parking break wire in order to do the latest firmware upgrade on my NEX 7000. I'm reading some people are bricking their HUs. I have the wire grounded at the harness and deactivated the parking break ( lower left touch on). I really don't want to take the console apart to hook this wire to the break but I will if it is required. ) 06 Vette
No you do not. I see you read the section on the parking brake bypass and that is all that is necessary. I updated mine and I DO NOT have the wire grounded nor hooked up. It is just rolled up with a cable tie. It works fine and no occasional nag screen with a DVD in it either. Just follow the update instructions and you should be fine.

Thanks Bud, I did the update and all went well. I used the SD slot, Format to FAT32, 10 minute job. BEER--------
