Playlist in Albums Group

Prior to getting my AVIC-Z2, my music collection (for my car) was a bunch of old "mix" audio tapes of my various favorite songs. I recently had those professionally converted to CDs, and I finally completed loading them into my AVIC-Z2 library. Each converted CD became an "album", which I manually gave an album title too of my own choosing. However, now I'm ready to put some individual songs (by different artists, etc) individually onto the library as I buy new CDs/songs I like (rather than recording the entire artist's album). I can't keep recording them onto audio tapes and then converting to CDs (too expensive, and I don't really want to buy software etc to do it at home, since I can just record the CD tracks directly into the AVIC library).

Is there a way to group 10 or so of those individual songs recorded into the librry from different CDs into a mix "album" (similar to my old mix CDs) such that they show up (as a group) in the albums list under one "album" name. From reading the OM it looks like you can group individual songs together on a "playlist", but I want that playlist to appear in the listing with all my other "albums", rather than on the separate "favorites" or whatever group listing. This is so all my collections of songs (albums) will be under the same group so I don't have to change groups to find all my songs.

Thanks for any help.

I know that you can manually change the name of the song/artist. I assume you can change the name of the album as well, once you've recorded it. Check it out and see. If so, you're problems are solved.

No that's not my problem. I've been renaming the album names on all of my mix CDs, since they are loaded with the name being the date/time it was loaded to the Z2's harddrive. My problem is that, when I copy a single track off a new store-bought CD to the harddrive, it's its own individual entry (album with a single song on it - I'm assuming since haven't tried it yet). I want a way to combine 10 or so of those individually loaded single album-songs as "album" in the albums group, rather than grouping them as a "playlist" which puts them in a separate area (playlist group) that I have to switch to from the albums group in order to play them. I want all my song groupings loaded in the "albums" group so I don't have to switch groups. I could leave them as individual songs in the albums group, but that will make my albums list way too long way too quick.

I've been getting around this problem by burning all the new individual songs I buy onto a new single mix CD, and then loading that, but everytime I get a new song I have to reburn the mix CD on another blank CD (with the new song at the end) and load it to the Z2 - a big waste of time and blank CDs (at least until I get enough songs (10) on the new mix CD that I can treat it as a completed album and start another one).

I see. I have been assuming that if you rename the albums so that they all have the same name, then all of the songs will show up in the same album list. It sounds like you've tried this and it doesn't work.

It's a real pain in the ass, I know.
