Ok i have read on here about the new ipods not being able to play video on external sources, witch of the older ones shold i get or look for to play video on external souces???

There are "witch ipods" now? I bet those play some spooky songs! LOL

Anyway, I would stick with a classic 5th gen video for now. The new ones have some jacked up stuff in them.
