heard about u guys through g35driver.com, as advertised..u guys know your $hit!! Anyway, im about to buy a d3 for my g35x and was curious how the install was. Ive done a bunch of head units in my life, but never one with a "speed wire" or reverse wire etc etc. I was quoted 780 through a local store plus 75 install but it seems online i can pick one up for 700 through compuplus and attempt the install myself...saving my roughly 150 and tax. opinions? thanks for your time and looking forward to chatting in the future!
Noob with a few install questions...
If you do some research and find the location for the speed sensor and reverse wire, then all is like a normal audio install. Very time consuming. Don't know about your car, but if you have someone that knows the unit and is only charging 75 for the install, it just might be worth the expense to let them do it.
Look into getting the toys that go with it. If you do Ipod. The bluetooth adapter is well worth the price, be sure to check the thread about phones to see if your's is mentioned. If your into SAT radio, the XM interface with the D3 is much better then the Sirius. If you have steering wheel radio controls, then you will need the SWI adapter.. So, as you see, when you start adding the toys there are a lot of things to tap that need power and ground. You see now how there is a lot of things to hook up, hence the time consuming part. But well worth it once it is done.
Be sure to do the bypass!!!!
i have a 350z that i installed a z2.maybe the vss wire is in the same location as your g35.if so check out this link showing a install.pm if u have any questions.
thanks for the replies!! looking forward to buying on soon.
