Hey guys,

I've had my D3 for about 2 1/2 months and am having issues with it in the early morning hours. I work at about 6:00 am everyday, well up till yesterday and today it seemed to be fine. The past two morning though the screen WON'T come on. It's actually rather weird because my drive is only about 10 min and by the time I get to work and shut the truck off and then turn it back on the screen will come back to life all of sudden and work fine all day and nite. Makes absolutely no sense in my head! I know every thing is wired properly, i did the install and bypass my self and it has worked fine since I bought the unit. I also noticed even when the display isn't on u can touch the screen and "Touch Screen' aspect of it is still active.....So i guess I'm wondering is the unit messed up? If so what's the prob? Could be some type of moisture in the air makin it not come on? (Note I made sure all windows were sealed up before leaving it last nite) I'm just at a loss here and need any advice y'all may have. Thanks for the long read and hopefully someone will know sumthin.

Last week, my bypass on my d3 went out. Thought the wire must have popped out of the harness. Checked it out everything looked good. this was just random. On and off but no real pattern of trouble. Yesterday, the screen blanked out. Shut the radio off and on. Poof it was ok again. Thinking about doing a reset, maybe it is all related. Will reply again if it continues after the reset.

I have a 06 f150 and i used the harness from Circuit City and did the bypass and all by myself.....

Is it just the screen going blank, or the unit actually turning off and on?

If it's the first, it sounds like the unit has an internal problem, possibly.

If it's the 2nd one, maybe there's a loose power connection. Or the harness isn't plugged into the unit all the way. Check all your connections and make sure they're solid.

It's actually just the screen going blank.....The unit is still turned on and u can actually touch the screen and it will work just fine....just no visibility...

Yeah. Sorry to say it, but that sounds like there's something wrong with the unit. You're most likely going to have to get it replaced... I think there's a (1 year?) warranty from Pioneer.
