I have the iso to do the bypass on my z2 that just arrived today, and now i see the firmware update on pioneers page to fix the heat lockup issues. is this the same update or will this mess things up or what? thanks!!

According to Pioneer's email, they say don't do the freeze fix unless you have freezing issues. No idea why, but thats what the email said

I'd wager it reduces performance to avoid freezing, and you wouldn't want to do that unless you had to.

i bypassed my avic-z2 and after i did, i noticed that my system is freezing during hot weather so i thought that its the bypass thats causing the problem and when the new firmware came out, i installed it and now my system is working perfect. even the bypass works
