I am running a 4200NEX with my S8 and was using HDMI with Unchained Rootless since I got the phone...worked well but some stuff just doesn't display very well on the head unit so I was excited when I got in on the Waze beta for Andriod Auto!  I am only interested in Waze for navigation so that's why I never used AA before.

 

So, now that I'm using it I found that the radio will play over AA when I'm in AA mode, but as soon as I use the voice commands (which you pretty much MUST do for everything), the radio stops playing and cannot restart no matter what I do.  Same for all other audio inputs aside from the AA USB2 input (will only play audio from the phone).

 

As soon as I disconnect the phone and plug it back in, the NEX audio is back!  I have duplicated this countless times and it always happens this way.  Has anyone else run into this problem?  Is there a fix or workaround of some kind?
