I am wondering because the install instructions don't indicate if the input to the AVIC D3 should be digital {pulse} or analog {wave}. It concerns me because i have the ability to use either in my truck but i dont want to mess anything up.

Well most of what I've seen has referred to the speed signal as the "speed pulse", it even says that on the D3's display, so I'd be inclined to say it should be the digital signal. That makes even more sense considering the D3 displays the speed pulse numerically instead of as a gauge or meter.
