I'm trying to transcode some videos for my AVIC-8000NEX (to be displayed on rear headrest screens) but I'm a little confused.

 

The manual for the NEX says the screen is:

• Screen size/aspect ratio: 6.95 in / 16:9
• Effective display area: 156.6 mm x 81.6 mm
• Pixels: 1152000 (2400x480) (this must be incorrect???)

After doing some research I believe the screen is actually 800x480 (WVGA)​.  However, this resolution is 5:3 and not 16:9 unless the pixels aren't square.  I'm also confused even more because 156.6 / 81.6 is ~1.91.

 

Can anybody help me with the confusion?
