Mode Button on Steering Wheel Control / Mode Button on Radio

I have the NEX4200 and love the fact that the Mode button on the front of the head unit switches between Android Auto and HD Radio. Is there any way to get my steering wheel control (Mode) button to do the same thing. It seems to just switch sources, which is useless to me. Will the Pioneer accept the Mode command via the steering wheel control plug? Any hack?

I-data link Makes few different models designed to allow it's users the ability to retain the the steering wheel controls when swapping out head units, if I'm not mistaken there is one module that is new to there line up that also allows you to program the function of at least one of those buttons. Could be just what your looking for, if possible let me know if this worked out for you. Good luck.
