Halleluja.  The next WAZE update will allow us to use Waze on Carplay with iOs 12.  Google Maps is working now.

Yes, this is great news!   I was using the Google Maps last night and the Satellite view works like a charm using Wireless Carplay in the 8400.   So many map choices now!

Do you two have any idea why I'm not getting Google Maps to show up on CarPlay?

Just downloaded iOS12 yesterday, and installed the August '18 update on my AVIC 8000NEX minutes ago. To my dismay, after the bluetooth update, I connected my iPhone X and Google Maps was not an app on CarPlay, and only the 'home screen' is displayed even when the GMaps is open. With that said, I did not restart my car before attempting this. Just updated and tried it out. 

I'm excited to not constantly need to switch between Music and GMaps from my phone while driving.

You have to update the Google Maps app to the latest version as well.

I went back to IOS 11.4.1 today from IOS 12   everything works perfect with IOS 11.4.1   iPhone 7 Plus on GSM AT&T  including mirror screen for YouTube and Dish network for live TV 

Yeah....Waze for IOS12 was released today!!!!   We now have Waze on Carplay!!!

Woohoo!!!

Waze is finally here and it actually works very well.  And Waze seems to have the best graphics of all the other map options.

I actually thought the Google Maps Satellite view was probably the best.

I wish they could show your speed and the track playing on Spotify since it does that on the iPhone already.
