Im so sorry guys im new to this. I just bought a car and this unit came with it . Im not really a stereo savy person but does the avic d2 play dvd or is there a hack or mod that enables it to play dvd. thanks

You can always get an add-on DVD drive and connect it to the A/V input of the D2.

Really? That's gotta suck, I'm sure a lot of people who buy the D2's off ebay are misled by the fact that it says "DVD-ROM". I retract my previous statement, you learn something new every day.

DVD-ROM and DVD-Video are two totally different standards. People need to be educated before they make big dollar purchases. Just coming to AVIC411 would greatly help any prospective buyer.
