rather than send you on a search scavenger hunt - there is a quick answer: I use a OS x so I used Toast to make a copy of the DVD without any problems. The key is the nav disks are dual layer so you have to have a pc or mac capable of writing to a blank dual layer dvd. The copy works great in my D3

Agreed. Just do a direct copy of the Nav DVD to a dual layer DVD. I used a Verbatim DVD+R DL disc and it works perfectly. If you have OSX I recommend Toast, and if you have Windows I recommend Nero. Good luck.

Will an outside company make a copy for you? like Kinko's? I know copyright problems come into play. Wondering if anyone has had this done?

No, they will not copy them. The discs have a copyright statement on them. Your best bet is to copy them yourself or find someone who can do it for you.
