where is the best place to mount the mic in an FJ cruiser

I placed mine on the steering column and it is not good.

I mounted mine in the rubber "gasket" in the driver's door frame at the top of the A pillar. I have a body panel which covers the A pillar and it meets the head liner, at the junction, I wedged my mic. It points right at my head and is less than a foot away.

Before actually running the cable try attaching the mic to a few places and drive at speed. Call your voicemail, or talk to someone on the phone.
