I am planning to install a Z2 in my 2001 Eddie Bauer Expedition and have a few questions.

Will it fit in the existing opening or will I need to make modifications?

I have the Mach sound system, will I need any adapters to hook up the radio?

I also have the rear seat radio controls, will I be able to use these and will I need some kind of an adapter?

I have the rear seat video monitor with wireless headphones, will I be able to connect this and will any adapters be required?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Some pretty sever cutting will be involved. And a 99-5805 just to help it look nicer.

It's either a 70-5519 or 70-5517 for the mach system. Don't remember which.

yep a pac-swips and a second one if you have steering wheel controls you would like to keep.

Depends is it factory installed, or aftermarket. If you're not sure post a pic of it.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Thanks for the reply.

Is that a picture of a Lincoln Navigator and did you do the install? Looks nice.

When you say severe cutting do you mean behind the trim or cutting of the trim?

The rear video and headphones were factory installed.

Where is a good place to purchase the parts you are referring to?

Thanks again

Thanks. Yeah it's a 98 navigator, but the dash is setup the same way as the expedition. I did do the install and just to give you an idea. I'd charge $350 for the work. $400 if I had to integrate the factory overhead. Average time for the modification is about 2.5 hours. Not saying that's fast or slow, just how long it takes me.

Behind the trim only. The trim is 100% in tact.

The rear video and headphones were factory installed.

It is possible to retain the factory overhead. The headphones though I'm not sure of. Wiring though I'm not up on since I haven't had to do that in a while.

Where is a good place to purchase the parts you are referring to?

www.installer.com or any local audio shop.

Thanks again

In this 2001 Expedition Mach system is the amplifier built into the radio or separate?

After much research I have found on Mach systems some have the amplifier for front, back and sub speakers separate and some have the front and back speaker amp built into the radio with a separate amp for the subwoofer.

Does anyone know for sure what this model year vehicle has?

Do you know where I could get a wiring diagram?

Thanks

I installed my Z in an hour. I only had to cut the plastic trim seperating the radio and climate control. 2 minutes with the Dremmel. Mine looks the same as his pic.
