Ok well I have an Avic-d3, and your supposed to be able to output video to the Avic-d3 from an Ipod using the Ipod Pioneer cable. Well I'm having problems doing that....My Ipod will not go into TV out mode. Now I do know this is an Ipod problem but I figure someone here might know why it won't go into TV out mode. I go under Videos - Settings - TV Out and try to turn it to on and it will just not switch to the ON setting, It stays on the Off setting...? Anyone have any Insight??

It won't output video unless you are using APPLE accessories. Apple screwed everyone on the new ones

Somebody forgot to search before posting, methinks.

Read the topics about ipods.

They'll tell you everything you need to know.

saw a new firmware is out for ipod nanos and classics which fixes the tv out issue. I have since returned my classic and got a 5.5gen. Can anyone test this out and see if it works?

Thanks :)

No, the firmware update kinda fixed the track info not updating. The inability to use the video out with the D3 most likely isn't going to be rectified. And if it is, it probably won't be until the next generation unit comes out.

i got video to output on the classic with the new firmware, but i had to start the video, and then disconnect and reconnect the cable. video started playing back from the first video, not the one i selected, but i could skip ahead using the controls on the headunit. not a total fix, but good enough, since i had to go into the glove compartment anyway to press play. i am still keeping my 5.5G unless and until they get things working a little smoother on the classic, though

Well that sounds interesting. I will have to try that after work today. Has anyone had a chance to look at the Apple tv out cable to see if there is any kind of physical difference between those cable's and a normal dock connector cable? If there is no difference I'm sure someone could hack the Ipod to resolve the issue.
