About a month ago I installed the Avic D-3 in My 2003 Silverado. The install was a bear, but it's all up and running, and it's a very nice, clean install.

Anyway, I'm only having one problem with my install. It's a hit and miss issue, and I can't pin it down.

When I power down my D-3, re power it up, and choose XM, some of the channel descriptions are gone. Not the actual presets, but the descriptions of the channels i.e. "Highway 16" or "The Virus". The descriptions usually return after a while, but I'm a bit of a perfectionist, and it bugs me.

I've checked the power supply and ground, both are good. The power supply is always on (not tied to the ignition) and the ground is solid.

Anyone else experienced this, or know what causes it?

Thanks,

Bill

Is the nav dvd in the d3? I don't use xm, but I have read that the icons for each station are stored on the dvd, not in the d3 or the xm tuner itself.

The OP isnt talking about the logo icons.

It happens to me as well. Has nothing to do with your install. It's all dependant on how the data is received from the satellites when the unit first starts up. It usually comes back within 30-60 seconds of playing, for me.
